Welcome to Passion for Healthy Living! I will begin by stating that I am NOT a spectacular writer, but that is not my goal. My goal is to bring hope to those who are ready and willing to make changes in order to live a healthy life. I am so excited to share with you my journey and many things I have learned over the last 6.5 years in my healing process. So much of what you read in my blog will come from experiences with my own healing process, what has worked for me, and what I think is helpful. There is not a one size fits all approach because everyone is unique and our bodies process things differently. However, what I have learned over the years, is that you can never go wrong in eating a diet rich in whole foods, especially plant based. In 2013, I had my own health crisis that left me in bed for about a year. I had adrenal fatigue that also caused issues with my digestive system, hormone imbalance, heart arrhythmia, insomnia, and muscle weakness. The medical community was unable to give me answers so I started doing my own research. I was also able to get help from a pharmacist who understands adrenal health and hormones, and was willing to guide me on a more holistic path. It has been a long journey over the last 6.5 years, but it has been worth it. I am healthier for it! Not only did I change my diet radically, but I have also learned how to rest. I have always been a person who is on the go and busy with life. I am learning to slow down, to be still, and to say NO. I would encourage each of you to reflect on what your eating looks like, what your schedule looks like, and see where you can make changes. Today you can start “Eating to Live,” instead of Living to Eat,” and slowing down to smell the roses so that life doesn’t pass you by. We only have ONE live to live, let’s be healthy and well for the journey.
